The Nigerian Equities Market closed in the negative territory today as its benchmark index fell by 0.04% to 65,309.65 points. Consequently, its Year-to-Date return printed at 27.43% (Yesterday: 27.48%). The weak performance was primarily driven by selloffs in Geregu, Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc and Ecobank offsetting the gains in Zenith bank Plc, Guaranty Trust Holdings, FBN Holdings and Guinness Nigeria Plc. 

Today, ACCESSCORP traded the highest in terms of Volume and Value. Total Volume and Value traded for today settled at NGN49.36mn and NGN0.86bn respectively.

The top gainers for today were GUINNESS, GLAXOSMITH and MAYBAKER while NSLTECH, NNFM and JOHNHOLT topped the losers’ chart.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

Today, the Nigerian Treasury bills secondary market closed negative as average yield increased by 0.30% to settle at 7.26%. Similarly, the FGN bond market closed negatively as average yield increased by 0.12% to close at 13.47%.
