Daily Market Update (Equities)

The Nigerian Equities market closed on negative run as its benchmark index lost 0.43% to 66,482.28 points. As a result, its year-to-date (YtD) returns fell to 29.72% (vs. Yesterday: 30.28% YtD). The gains recorded in GTCO, Zenith Bank and Oando were not enough to cover the losses incurred in MTN, Fidelity and Wema Bank.

The Total Volume traded was 657.52mn units (vs. Yesterday: 364.32mn units) while the Total Value traded was NGN4.59bn (vs. Yesterday: NGN3.85bn).

 

Today, IKEJAHOTEL, ABSTRANS and ROYALEX topped the losers’ chart while OANDO, REDSTAREX and RTBRISCOE were the top gainers.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

The NT-bills secondary market ended today on a positive note as average yield in the market declined by 0.04% to settle at 7.84%. However, the FGN Bond market closed positive as average yield fell by 0.02% to 14.42%.
