Daily Market Update (Equities)

The Nigerian Equities Market started the week on a positive note as its benchmark index rose by 1.11% to settle at 68,279.14 points. Consequently, the Year-to-Date (YtD) returns surged to 33.22% (Last Friday: 31.76%YtD). Gains in Zenith Bank, GTCO, Dangote Sugar, Stanbic and Ecobank offset the losses recorded in Airtel Africa, Lafarge, International Breweries and NGX.

The Total Volume traded for today was 845.68mn units while Total Value traded was NGN13.04bn. FIDELITYBK traded the highest in terms of Volume while GTCO traded the highest in terms of Value.

The top gainers in today’s trading session were DANSUGAR, NASCON and JOHNHOLT while the top losers were CHIPLC, CORNERST and SUNUASSUR.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

Today, the Nigerian Treasury Bills market closed negative as the average yield declined by 0.01% to settle at 7.55%. Whereas the average yield in the FGN Bond market closed flat at 14.06%.
