Daily Equities Market Update (Equities)

Today, Nigerian Equities market closed with positive sentiment  as its benchmark index rose by 0.34% to 71,041.29 points. As a result, its year-to-date (YtD) returns went up to 39.09  (vs. yesterday’s YtD: 38.61%). The losses recorded in , MAYER, NESTLE and NSLTECH offset the gains incurred in GUINEAINS, OMATEK and ABBEYBDS.

The Total Volume and Value traded for today are NGN360.60mn units and NGN6.61bn. GTCO traded the highest in terms of both Value and Volume.

Top gainers for today where SEPLAT, NESTLE, and TRANSCO. While top loser where FBNH, STANBIC IBTC, and DANGSUGAR.

Fixed Income Market Update 

Today, the NT-bills secondary market closed bullish as average yield declined marginally by 1bp to settle at 10.21%. This followed buying interest in the short and long tenor bills. Similarly, the FGN Bond market closed the day on a bullish note as average yield declined by 1bp to settle at 15.72%. This was on the back of significant buying interest in the Mar-2024(+12bps) and Jan-2026(+12bps) instruments . Overall, the Naira Fixed Income market closed positive as average yield declined by 1bp to settle at 12.97%.
