Daily Market Update (Equities)
The Nigerian Equities market stayed in the red zone in today’s trading session, as its benchmark index shed 0.34% to 66,652.17 points. Consequently its year-to-date (YtD) return dipped to 30.05% from yesterday’s 30.50% YtD. Losses in BUA Cement, GTCo and ZENITHBANK offset the gains recorded in NB, LAFARGE and UNICAP.
Total Volume traded today was 363.99mn units (vs Yesterday:408.19mn units), while the Total Value traded stood at NGN4.53bn (vs. Yesterday: NGN5.44bn).
The top losers for today were CONOIL, FTNCOCOA and OANDO. On the other hand, CHIPLC, CORNERST and BETAGLASS gained the highest today.
Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)
Today, the NT-bills secondary market ended the day on a positive note as average yield fell 0.10% to 8.37%. However, the FGN Bond market closed negative as average yield went up marginally by 0.01% to settle at 14.47%.
