Daily Market Update (Equities)

The Nigerian Equities market closed negative for the first time this week, as its benchmark index declined by -0.46% to settle at 65,687.16 points. As a result, its Year-to-Date return dropped to 28.17% from 28.76% yesterday. The market movers for today include SEPLAT, Stanbic, Zenith, NASCON and Fidelity.

Today, UBA recorded the highest amount of trade in terms of Volume at 58.31mn while ACCESSCORP recorded the highest amount of trade in terms of Value at 0.99bn.

 

The top gainers for today were COURTVILLE, NCR and SEPLAT while CADBURY, MULTIVERSE and OMATEK topped the losers’ chart.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

Today, average yield in the Nigerian Treasury bills secondary market remained at 4.31%. However, the FGN bond market closed negatively as the average yield in the market rose by 0.18% to 12.89%.
