Daily Market Update (Equities)

Today, the Nigerian equities market closed negative, declining by 0.09% to 101,995.21 points. This pushed market’s year-to-date (YtD) returns down to 36.41% (vs. Yesterday: 36.53% YtD). Losses in NESTLE, DANGSUGAR, and ACCESSCORP outweighed gains in FBNH, NASCON, and GTCO, contributing to the negative performance.

Total volume traded (+1.14% to 294.32mn units) and total value traded (+11.69% to NGN6.72bn) closed higher. FBNH remained the top performer in terms of both volume and value.

NESTLE, ETERNA and FIDSON recorded the highest losses today, while NASCON, FBNH and DAARCOMM were the highest gainers.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

Today, average yield at the NT-bills secondary market fell marginally by 0.04% to settle at 16.63%, pushing the market to a positive close. Conversely, the secondary FGN Bond market saw negative sentiment as the average yield in the market went up by 0.02% to 16.82%. Overall, the Naira Fixed Income market closed positive as the average yield fell by 0.01% to settle at 16.72%.
