Daily Market Update (Equities)

The Nigerian Equities market began the week on a negative note as its benchmark index declined by 0.66% to settle at 66,882.64 points. Notably, the gains recorded in LAFARGE AFRICA PLC, FLOUR MILLS of NIGERIA PLC and CORNERSTONE INSURANCE PLC were not enough to counter the losses incurred in MTNN, ACCESSCORP and ZENITHBNK.

The Total Volume traded today was 408.19mn units, a 60.31% decline from last week Friday’s 1.03bn units. However, Total Value traded increased by 24.96% to NGN5.44bn from NGN4.35bn last week Friday. ACCESSCORP traded the highest in terms of both Volume and Value.

CAVERTON, ACCESSCORP and OANDO were the top losers in today’s trading session, while IKEJAHOTEL, JOHNHOLT and CORNERST were the top gainers.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

The Nigerian Treasury Bills market closed negative as the average yield went up marginally by 1bp to 8.47%. However, the FGN Bond market closed positive as the average yield declined by 1bp to 14.46%.
