Daily Market Update (Equities)

The Nigerian Equities market started the week on a positive note, as the NGX All Share Index (ASI) gained 0.02% to settle at 72,404.91 points. Consequently, the market’s year-to-date (YtD) returns closed at 41.27%. This was driven by gains in Transcorp, Fidelity and UBA offsetting losses incurred in STANBIC, Guaranty Trust Holdings and Access.

Total Volume traded increased by 5.357% to 324.25mn units, while the total Value traded declined by 33.03% to NGN4.39bn. Today, MBENEFIT traded the highest in terms of Volume While MTNN traded highest in teams of Value.

The top gainers for today include INFINITY, JOHNHOLT and FTNCOCOA while ABCTRANS, ETRANZACT and RTBRISCOE topped the losers’ chart.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

Today, the NT-bills secondary market closed positive as the average yield dipped by 0.01% to settle at 8.28%. However, the FGN bond market closed negative as the average yield rose by 0.02% to settle at 14.40%. Overall, the Naira Fixed Income market closed on a negative note as the average yield increased by 0.01% to settle at 11.34%.
