Daily Market Update (Equities)
Today, the Nigerian equities market closed on positive note, as the NGX All Share Index (ASI) went up by 0.58% to settle at 104,100.00 points. Consequently, the year-to-date (YtD) returns rose to 39.22% (vs 38.42% YtD yesterday). Gains in BUA Cement, Geregu Power, and Fidelity offset losses in FBNH, DANDSUGAR, and Zenith.
The Total Volume and Value traded decline by 35.36% and 44.63% each to 275.99mn units and NGN6.70bn respectively. Today, GTCO traded the highest in terms of Volume and Value.
The top gainers for today were MBENEFIT, DAAECOMN and HONYFLOUR while JBERGER, MORISON and MAYBAKEER led the losers’ chart.
Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)
Today the NT-bills secondary market closed positive as the average yield dipped by 0.20% to settle at 15.03%. However, the FGN bond market closed negative as the average yield went by 0.25% to close at 16.10% . Overall, the Naira Fixed Income market ended on a negative note as the average yield increased by 0.03% to settle at 15.56%.
