Daily Market Update (Equities)

The Nigerian Equities market started the week on a positive note as the benchmark index rose by 0.40% to 70,479.62 points. As a result, its year-to-date (YtD) returns rose to 37.52% (vs. Friday’s YtD: 36.97%). The gains recorded in BUA Cement, SEPLAT and Fidelity offset the losses incurred in SANBIC IBTC, Zenith BK and INTBREW.

The Total Volume and Value traded for today are 391.01mn units and NGN7.71bn respectively. GEREGU traded the highest in terms of Value and FBNH traded the highest in terms of Volume.

Today, CHAMS, GLAXOSMITH and OANDO topped the gainers’ chart, while ABCTRANS, CHAMPION and INTBREW topped the losers’ chart.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

 The NT-bills secondary market closed negative as the average yield surged by 0.09% to settle at 14.38%. Similarly, the FGN bond market closed bearish as average yield increased by 0.02bps to close at 15.64%.
