Daily Market Update (Equities)

Today, the Nigerian Equities market closed positive, as the All-Share Index (ASI) surged by 0.13% to close at 98,156.71 points. As a result, the market’s year-to-date (YtD) returns rose to 31.27% from 30.18% YtD yesterday.

However, market activity was positive today, with the total volume and value traded rising significantly by 15.25% and 24.95% each to 409.77mn units and NGN8.92bn respectively. AIRTELAFRI traded the highest in terms of value while NB traded the highest in terms of volume traded.

Today, GUINEAINS, AIRTELAFRI and INTENEGINS topped the gainers chart, while ETERNA, OMATEK and UNITYBNK topped the loser’s chart.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

Today, the NT-bill secondary market ended on a positive note, as the average yield dropped by 0.02% to 22.39%. However, the FGN bond market closed negative, as the average yield rose by 0.04% to 18.68%. Overall, the Naira Fixed Income market closed negative, as the average yield increased by 0.02% to settle at 20.53%.
