Daily Market Update (Equities)
The Nigerian Equities market opened the week on a strong note, gaining 1.92% to settle at 84,640.89 points. This was spurred by gains in DANGCEM, GEREGU and DANGSUGAR, which offset losses in FBNH, JBERGER and ABBEYBDS.
Today, the total Volume and Value traded increased by 34.44% and 21.25% each to reach 807.51mn units and NGN11.03bn respectively. AIICO led the charts in terms of total Volume traded while NASCO traded the highest in terms of Value.
The top gainers for today were CHAMS, DAARCOMM and CADBURY while ABBEYBDS, JBERGER and CUSTODIAN led the decliners’ chart.
Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)
Today, the NT-bills secondary market traded on a quiet note, as the average yield remained at 3.28%. However, the FGN Bond market closed on a positive note following a marginal 0.01% decrease in average yield to 13.27%. Consequently, the Naira Fixed Income market recorded a 0.01% decline in average yield to 8.28%, to close on a positive note.
