Daily Market Update (Equities)

The Nigerian Equities market rebounded from its negative outing yesterday, as its benchmark index gained 0.37% to settle at 70,876.35 points. This is onthe back of gains recorded in BUACEMENT, ZENITHBANK and GTCO offsetting losses incurred in FIDELITYBANK, INTBREW and TRANSCORP. Consequently, the market’s year-to-date returns (YtD) moved up to 38.29% from 37.84% yesterday.

Total Volume traded declined by 30.98% to 327.43mn units while Total Value traded fell by 56.54% to NGN3.37bn. JAPAULGOLD was the most traded stock by Volume in the market today, while FIDELITYBANK traded the highest in terms of Value.

NNFM, CILEASING and MEYER were the top gainers for today while REDSTAREX, FTNCOCOA and MBENEFIT topped the losers’ chart.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

Today, the NT-bills secondary market closed positive as average yield in the market declined marginally by 0.01% to 13.34%. On the flipside, the FGN Bond market closed on a negative note as average yield advanced by 0.07% to 15.74%.
