Daily Market Update (Equities)
The Nigerian Equities Market ceased its positive trajectory in today’s trading session as its benchmark index declined by 0.51% to settle at 66,439.53 points. Consequently, the Year-to-Date (YtD) returns decreased to 29.64% (Yesterday: 29.73% YtD). The losses in TRANSNATIONAL CORP, ZENITH, GTCO, FIDELITY and STERLING offset the gains recorded in DANGSUGAR, LAFARGE, NASCON and JAIZ.
The Total Volume traded for today was 637.19mn units while Total Value traded was NGN7.79bn. ACCESSCORP traded the highest in terms of Volume while DANGSUGAR traded the highest in terms of Value.
The top gainers in today’s trading session were CHIPLC, ABCTRANS and JAIZBANK while the top losers were TRANSCORP, IKEJAHOTEL and FTNCOCOA.

Today, the Nigerian Treasury Bills market closed positive as the average yield dipped by 0.41% to settle at 6.88%. However, the average yield in the FGN Bond market rose by 0.06% to 14.06%.
