Daily Market Update (Equities)
The Nigerian Equities market closed positive today as the benchmark index increased by 0.33% to 71,907.26 points, pushing the market’s Year-to-Date (YtD) returns past 40.00% to 40.30% (vs. Yesterday: 39.84% YtD). This is on the back strong gains in MTNN, UBA and TRANSCORPHOTELS, which countered losses in FBNH, CONOIL and JAIZBANK.
The total Volume traded today fell by 14.86% to 319.56mn units while total Value traded increased by 52.54% to settle at NGN5.88bn. Today, JBERGER recorded the highest trades in terms of both Volume and Value.
The top gainers for today include INFINITY, DAARCOMM and ROYALEX while the top losers were GUINEAINS, CONOIL and OMATEK.
Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)
Today, the Naira Fixed Income market closed on a bearish note as average yield fell by 0.48% to 12.81%, following significant buying interests in the NT-bills secondary market (average yield declined by 0.15% to 10.85%) and FGN Bond market (average yield decreased by 0.81% to 14.78%).
