Daily Market Update (Equities)

The Nigerian Equities market closed the day positively as the NGX All Share Index (ASI) went up by 0.83% to 80,324.53points. Consequently, the market’s year-to-date (YtD) returns settled at 7.24% compared to 6.54% on Friday. The gains recorded in Lafarge Africa PLC, Transnational Corp of Nigeria and GTCO offset the losses in Fidelity Bank, PZ Cussons and Stanbic IBTC

Total Volume climbed by 33.33% to 432.91mn units, while Total Value rose by 6.48% to NGN15.26bn. Today, FCMB traded the highest in terms of Volume while FIDELITYBK traded the highest in term Value.

The top losers for today were DAARCOMM, ETERNA and CWG while CORNERST, LASACO and ROYALEX topped the gainers’ chart.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

Today, the NT-bills secondary market closed on a positive note as the average yield dipped by 1.07% to settle at 4.88%. Similarly, the FGN bond market closed positive as the average yield fell by 0.09% to settle at 13.72%. Overall, the Naira Fixed Income market witnessed gain as the average yield went down by 0.58% to 9.30%.
