Daily Market Update (Equities)

The Nigerian Equities market continued its negative trajectory this week, falling by 0.43% to 103,736.08 points in today’s trading session. This is following losses in GTCO, MTNN, FBNH and UBA offsetting gains in DANGSUGAR, ECOBANK, FCMB and NEM. Consequently, the market’s year-to-date (YtD) returns fell to 38.73% from yesterday’s 39.33% YtD.

Today, total Volume and Value traded rose by 20.42% and 75.57% each to 487.73mn units and NGN15.64bn respectively. GTCO traded the highest in terms of both Volume and Value.

Top losers for the day were CILEASING, MBENEFIT and TANTALIZER, while the top gainers were MORISON, INTENEGINS and NEM.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

Today, the NT-bills secondary market closed on a negative note, as the average yield rose by 0.53% to 18.13%. Conversely, the secondary FGN Bond market was unchanged as the average yield stayed constant at 19.30%. Overall, the average yield in the Naira Fixed Income market rose by 0.27% to settle at 18.71%.
