Daily Market Update (Equities)

Today, the Nigerian equities market extended its negative trend as the NGX All Share Index fell by 0.02% to close at 99,805.95 points. As a result, the year-to-date (YtD) market return decreased to 33.48%, compared to 33.75% on Monday.

However, trading activity saw a significant increase. The total volume traded decreased by 38.74% reaching 422.69mn units while the total value traded surged by 653.03% reaching NGN53.96bn. VERITASKAP traded the highest in terms of volume, while GTCO traded the highest in terms of Value.

Today, CHAMPION, CADBURY and ETERNA led the gainers, while AFRIPRUD, UACN and RTBRISCOE led the losers.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

Today, the NT-bills market closed on a negative note as the average yield rose by 0.60% to settle at 23.49%. This is following selloff in the Mid-tenor bills. However, the FGN bond market closed flat at 18.78%. Overall, the Naira fixed income market concluded negative, with the average yield up by 0.30% to settle at 21.14%.
