Daily Market Update (Equities)

The Nigerian equities started the week on a negative note, loosing 0.44% to print at 99,304.12 points. Consequently, the market’s year-to-date (YtD) returns printed at 32.81%. The negative sentiment was fueled by losses in AIRTEL (-2.47%), FBNH (-5.44%) and DANGSUGAR (-4.15%), offsetting losses in TRANSCORP (+9.33%), NEM (7.59%) and FIDELITY (+1.01%).

Total Volume and Value traded both added 57.74% and 70.24% each to settle at 973.62mn units and NGN19.32bn respectively. FBNH traded the highest in terms of both volume and value.

NSLTECH, JOHNHOLT and NEM topped the gainers chart today while INTBREW, DEAPCAP and DAARCOMM were the top losers for the day.

Daily Market Update (Fixed Income)

Today, the NT-bills secondary market closed on a positive note as average yield decreased by 0.04% to settle at 21.93%. However, the FGN bond market closed flat at 18.77%. Overall, the Naira fixed income market closed on a positive note with the average declining by 0.02% to settle at 20.35%.
